I used it recently on a trip to Miami from Houston and it held up well. It was a direct flight so it may have had less abuse than you would on a connection flight. I have traveled with various Tumi Check-in pieces and Rimowa carry ons. Unless you have a form fitted cover (which I do on my Cabin Plus Rimowa), you will know the bag has been used and you’ll probably have some dents.
I’m not sure if the Riigid Aluminum is as stiff as Rimowa, but for the money, it has served me well so far. Only time we tell how it plays out long-term. That said, after my first trip, I ordered the trunk. It also arrived quickly and looked amazing next to my other silver aluminum luggage.
