Where do I start? How about with the reason I selected RR? They have decent reviews and offered 24/7 tracking.
24/7 Tracking: Unfortunately, the claim of 24/7 tracking is a blatant misrepresentation of what they actually provide. When I saw “24/7 tracking”, I assumed I would be able to track my car’s 7-8 day journey as it moved from MA to ID. Wrong! Their online tracking shows only a few key points in the journey: when the order is accepted, when a carrier is selected, when the car is picked up, when it is en route, and when it is estimated to be delivered. That’s it. For the 10 days between when my car was picked up and (finally, 3 days after the estimated date) dropped off, there was zero tracking and (despite several inquiries) zero communication. Rating: F
Communication: They do not communicate with customers on a timely, proactive basis. No updates at all unless you reach out to them. And when you do reach out, expect long hold times and rude, uncaring individuals on the other end. My car sat without any carrier selected for over a week. When I called to inquire, I was told “that’s just how it is.” Rating: F
Quote increase: I had initially requested an enclosed carrier, but after getting no movement, and no input from RR after more than a week, I called and changed to open carrier, hoping it would speed things up. It did, but my initial quote for an open carrier jumped by $400. Really? Rating: F
