What should have been a 15-hour drive from one state to another ended up taking 9 days. The vehicle was delivered a week later than promised. Communication during the entire process was lacking or nonexistent, leaving me in the dark about the vehicle's location and progress. I made plans for the vehicle's arrival, but no one showed up. The support team was unresponsive to my calls and inquiries, and the notifications I received were inaccurate. I requested a partial refund due to their failure to deliver as advertised, but they refused to consider it.
They are dishonest and deceitful. After I made my payment, they ignored my calls, and when they finally replied, I asked them to cancel my quote since I no longer wanted to proceed with them, which they did. Before this, I had submitted a copy of my identification and my debit card information. Shortly after, I noticed 10 unauthorized charges from California and Arizona on my debit card, totaling about $750. I had to cancel my card and report the situation to the authorities to protect my identity. I strongly advise against doing any business with them; they cannot be trusted. One of their representatives had a Spanish name.
The positive feedback seems fabricated. Their low prices come with a catch. I had my vehicle transported from one state to another, and it arrived in terrible condition, as if it had endured a storm. After cleaning it, I noticed several marks and scratches.
We are nearing 14 days with minimal communication from the company regarding the shipment from one coast to another. The lack of accurate updates, especially during weekends, has been frustrating. Overall, the service has been disappointing. I would advise against using them, as it feels risky. Quite terrible.
Like most "shippers" these days, RoadRunner Auto Transport owns no trucks, employs no drivers, and acts only as a brokerage—I.e., middleman—between you and the individual with the 18-wheeler who's going to handle your vehicle shipment. I suppose this makes sense from the providers perspective, but for the customer paying the freight, it adds up to delays, dropped calls, missed deadlines, and horrible communication. Once you accept their quote and make payment, your request goes on a "load board" subscribed to by drivers or small trucking companies who bid on the load at a price well below what you got charged. Once the load is dispatched, RoadRunner's work is finished. They have their money, and you (maybe) have a phone number for the bid winner or his driver. Your calls will not be returned. The pickup timetable will not be adhered to. Your intermediaries will have limited English language skills. But your money's gone so all you can do is cross your fingers and hope for the best. After two weeks of dealing with multiple vendors and a car that STILL hasn't been picked up, I'm convinced the entire retail auto-shipping industry is built on shady promises and low standards. I can only Imagine the nightmare that would be involved in a claim if one of these crooks damaged a vehicle.
All these reviews are fake- this company is a FRAUD company. They scheduled our pick up date and kept up with emails and texts, they took our credit card info for a deposit- then on the day of pick up all I got was an email with a drivers number that was fake. We waited ALL day. And then checked and saw they charged us in full 3 days before- they said we would only pay in full once the car was picked up! Now they won’t answer the phone. Trust me do not use this company! It will cost you time and effort and frustration- now my husband has to find a new company and he can’t go back to work for another week until he has his truck. It’s been an absolute nightmare. We had to call the bank this morning and hopefully we will get the money they stole from us back.
CHEATS! NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Expect a 25% increase at the last minute. We had a quote to ship a pick-up truck. Heard nothing for several days. Then late in the day before we were moving they call to say they can have someone there that day BUT, the rate is going up 25%. They ask if I still wanted the truck picked up. I had no choice. I asked "do I have a choice?" to which they said 'NO'. With the increase, they went from being competitive to the most expensive option available. I would NEVER use them again and would tell anyone to STAY AWAY. UPDATE REPLY TO ROADRUNNR RESPONSE: We did NOT ask for a specific pick up date, we asked for the truck to be picked up by a date. As for the option to decline the rate increase, that is technically true. We could have moved and left the truck behind. So their reply to my asking if we had a choice and them saying 'NO' was accurate. We had no choice but to be fleeced!
Delivered the car on time fine, no worries. Delivery driver left very quickly dropping the car off, as I was checking to make sure I had everything. A bit sketchy. Lo and behold, they failed to give me the any of the dealer paperwork, which included the temporary license plates.I had to illegally park my car with no license plates overnight. And had to fight to get them to bring the temp plates. They wanted to mail them, which would’ve added a few days.
