I am not surprised to read so many negative reviews on Royal Mail, especially in the light of my own

I am not surprised to read so many negative reviews on Royal Mail, especially in the light of my own negative experience of them.
I am a disabled, pensioner, living alone, hard of hearing, I fear opening my front door after being attacked at home twice within 4 months. There is no doorbell and I don't hear anyone knock. I am renting my home.
I have to risk leaving my door unlocked with a clearly typewritten notice taped to it, instructing couriers & Royal Mail to open the unlocked front door & leave parcels in the hall as opposed to outside where they get stolen or blown away in what is a wind tunnel between my home and the house next door. The entrance to my home is at the side of the house in the wind tunnel.
I work afternoon's evenings and nights 7 days per week, so I sleep in the mornings. I don't get a pension. The door notice states this and asks that I am must not be woken but the gormless postman, who is a grumpy old man, ignored this and opened my front door one morning and rudely shouted in a very loud demanding tone of voice that I come to the door to sign for a parcel. I was in agony and really struggling to get out of bed with my injuries having just been attacked and he was getting nasty and saying he didn't have all day to wait. I told him I was struggling & to stop being so demanding he got nasty and said he would see to it that I got no more parcels and went on the attack at me. I was left shaken and so traumatized that I could not get back to sleep, I was nodding off later that evening when I was supposed to be working, I could have lost my job.
I made a formal complaint to Royal Mail and heard nothing back other than to say that deliveries of mail and parcels will cease as the postman refuses to deliver to my home. I made a complaint to a higher authority in Royal Mail, but no response to that.
To blackmail someone, especially a disabled, housebound pensioner, by threatening to cease deliveries for what people have paid for, such as ordered goods from online stores which add the ever increasing Royal Mail delivery costs on top, is quite frankly appalling.
They do not take into account the disabilities of pensioners and other vulnerable people.
What adds to this perplexing situation is that only a few weeks earlier the same postman offered to sign for parcels for me after I told him I can't hear him knock with being deaf and that I was in agony after being attacked and couldn't walk very far. Why he couldn't have honoured that offer on that occasion remains a puzzle. Either he is losing his memory or he's becoming senile, he's an older male and behaves like a grumpy Victor Meldrew, he has no patience and doesn't read the door notice properly. He is a rude arrogant man with no respect.
Parcels have been left outside and have been stolen as I have advised Royal Mail many times, so to take no notice of clear delivery instructions designed to prevent this is just crazy.
When this incident happened I tried to phone Royal Mail complaints line and the voice prompt said that the waiting time would be over an hour. I waited over an hour then the line cut off, I lost an hours work that afternoon.
Royal Mail are utterly useless and they are getting worse all the time. You would hope that with so many complaints they would want to clean up their act and learn to show some respect for customers to rectify their appalling reputation but sadly they don't seem to care just as long as they can continue to fleece you for money for diabolical services - this is contempt and abuse. Customer services or care is now non-existent, they never discipline those you complain about and probably to avoid a strike by postal workers. They are certainly far from customer centric, quite the opposite in fact. Shame on the lot of them, they deserve to go out of business, can't see how they remain in business to be honest.
I can only recommend that you think twice before you use Royal Mail especially if you are placed like I am. Don't waste your money.
