"Do you work"?? . Snarled the unenthusiastic voice at the other end of this unhelpful helpline. Minutes after I had stated that I worked in the hospitality industry and entimtted that a lot of my issues were work related. The rest of the call dripped on like this. I would say something about my life circumstances, the arrogant imbicil would respond as if they delbritaly hadn't heard what I said. The recorded message at the start of their calls. claims that they are are there to listen not to to judge. In fact they offer neither and engage in the opposite of those behaviors. So they should be taken to the high court and suspended from operating as a charity. Let alone a helpline, that judging by the submissions on here, actually does more harm than good.Getting back to my last experience. The bot trained volunteer asked me what I would be doing for the rest of the day. I guess they have never heard of shift work.As someone with poor mental health I have not found one of these robotic helpines to do anything other then gas light personal experiences and make a lot of silly and patronizing assumptions about callers.I guess few of them actually work themselves or have had to in challenging or extracting environments for no great reward. Their telephone script must have been written in the 1950s. They palm people off to other failures like the CAB or The Jobcentre. So much for not telling people what to do.The ultimate aim appears to actually be a brick wall. So people can feel even more disempowered at the calls end. While it's another days unearned wealth for the CEOS and a green light for the narcissistic volunteers to keep taking calls. For their own egotistic needs.
