So helpful if you need someone to listen. I have used Samaritans twice in my life, today I spoke to a man whom I wish I had asked his name, he spoke to me for over half and hour and listened to everything I said, refered back to things I told him about and mainly I just felt listened to which I barley feel out in the world. I’ve reached out for help in many places but Samaritans is the best place I’ve got help from ever. The guy today helped me so so so much, just by taking to me and listening and the fact that I have no expectations from a stranger made it much less overwhelming than reaching out to other places. I genuinely appreciate this helpline so much because I know I’m never really alone, even when it feels like it. A stranger having such compassion towards my situation is extremely beneficial especially when you can’t even reach out to those closest to you. I know my problems aren’t fixed but I know I’m a lot stronger than I feel thanks to the man I spoke to today and I can’t thank him enough, If you don’t get through to someone helpful then call again. There is someone on the end of the line that cares.
