When I've called the right people at at Samaritans I've had some great conversations that have been enriching and make me feel loads less isolated , however they are in the minority , it would be a great service if it had some degree of continuity but it's very hit and miss and , and others use I'd call deflective stance they try to get you owning other peoples behaviour , which is exactly why people end up depressed and suicidal in the first place . I'm sorry but society produces all the good and also the bad things I understand it's an inconvenient truth but it's not our fault nobody asks to be treated badly , and society in general doesn't seem to have issues with treating bad people with respect even idolising them in many cases and seeing them as role models .so unfortunately the Samaritans reflects my experience in the wider world , I think from now on I won't call anymore as I don't feel like the samritans in general like me much and I think they store data on numbers and red flag people but I could be wrong on that . Its a shame but I guess it's to be expected .
