Sandal BMW Huddersfield took a deposit on a used car they had on their website. We discussed our trade in with the sales department and we thought we had confirmed the sale. We were then informed that the car we had put a deposit on (and agreed trade-in) had been sold and was no longer available. We have yet to get our deposit back despite asking by phone and email. This deposit issue is not limited to Sandal Huddersfield BMW - and must be an issue with BMW as a whole, because previously, in looking for the type of car we wanted - we found a ran ideal car at Barons BMW Bedford - placed a deposit on the vehicle - which again after a day in discussion and formal agreement on our part exchange - turned out to have been sold just hours before, and whilst we had it reserved. 5 days later and we still do not have that deposit refunded either. Interestingly, after this - both cars were still showing for sale on the BMW UK “approved used” website and on the dealer pages too.BMW UK Used Car sales process needs a complete overhaul.
