So, I was asked to contact Saur to arrange a rdv to read the compteur by some English friends who have a holiday home here in France. The customer sevice lady gave me a date and a time between 13.30 and 17.00, I asked if I could leave my mobile number so that the technicien could give me a 30 minute warning so that I didnt have to stay all afternoon, the lady said no and that the technicien wouldn't call me anyway. I suggested that I didnt want to wait all afternoon and the lady said that if I didnt like it, the only solution was for me to tell her to cancel the rdv. What a service!? Even EDF will call!
