Schuggie was key to a fantastic party. He was easy to work with, had technical mastery of his sound system and was able to drop smoothly into a venue he'd never worked before. Needless to say he ran a fantastic set, with every able-bodied person participating fully and having enormous fun - inhibitions were falling away by the second dance. This wasn't by chance; he had excellent judgement of our group of friends and what would suit them. A superb professional - thanks Schuggie !

For the third year in a row, we booked Schuggie to get Derby Mountain Rescue Team's annual fund raising off to a great start. Once again, planning the event with Schuggie was really easy, and on the night he got 130 people, ranging from keen to reluctant dancers, up on the dance floor and having a great time! We've already booked him for next year which shows how good we think he is!
Another absolutely fantastic evening for everyone who came our second Ceilidh to raise money for our playgroup. Schuggie helps such a lot with the preparations beforehand, and on the night, keeps the pace going with the raffle & games. He’s a brilliant caller & really cares that everyone has a great time. The children who came were blown away. Even sceptics admitted they’d had the time of their lives!
Schuggies Ceilidhs are the best! We have just celebrated our silver wedding anniversary and we decided to throw a party - the biggest event we've hosted since we got married all those years ago. We wanted to have a ceilidh and it very soon became clear Schuggie is *the man* in the East Midlands. From initial contact nearly a year ago, right the way through to the big night itself, Schuggie was brilliant. Lots of great suggestions on the ceilidh itself, but also advice on potential venues etc. Not only that but he kept us on the straight and narrow over the coming months and we had several calls to make sure that everything was coming together. The night itself was wonderful, with countless guests (including ceilidh-hardened Scots) marvelling at where we had found this gem of an entertainer. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat and would not change a thing.Slàinte Mhath!
Schuggie is a true legend. Thank you Schuggie for making our wedding so special. Everyone got stuck in and the dancefloor was packed, although none of us knew what we were doing!!! I was particularly impressed with your professionalism throughout, always looking out for people and making sure it was a safe event, bless you for that. I also like the fact that we had met many times before the actual day, meaning that when you arrived it was more like having another guest than a provider. Thank you so much, we will return (once my legs have recovered)
Schuggie was such a fantastic part of our wedding celebration and we honestly could not imagine the evening without him. From the start he was so friendly and easy to work with, helping us plan the perfect Ceilidh set and guiding us on which songs would work best for our guests.On the day he kept perfectly to our timetable and was incredibly discreet when setting up and packing down so everything was seamless. He worked brilliantly with the band and together they created such a fun, high energy atmosphere that got even the most reluctant dancers out on the floor.His warmth, humour and clear calling style made the Ceilidh accessible and enjoyable for everyone from seasoned dancers to complete beginners. It was such a highlight of the evening and really helped break the ice between guests. We cannot thank Schuggie enough for bringing so much joy and energy to our big day and we highly recommend him.
We had Schuggies Ceilidh at our wedding and it was a fantastic decision.The accompanying band was fantastic and live music really added to the evening.Schuggie was great with our group who had mostly never done Ceilidh before. He made sure everyone was included and found partners for people. The calling was easy to follow. The fun hats which went down at treat. We’ve had lots of complements on the ceilidh.The post ceilidh DJ set was also really good - Schuggie lined up the best songs from our playlist.
My wife and I met Schuggie when we did a Ceilidh on a whim, and last weekend he called a Ceilidh at our wedding - and it was absolutely amazing. The Ceilidh itself and the band were incredible on their own, but Schuggie knocked it out of the park on all fronts: he had regular check ins with us, helpful tips for all aspects of the wedding, and learned a new dance to call specifically for us. We really felt like he was invested in making our wedding the best it could be! His wedding disco playlist was also top-notch 😁 We can wholeheartedly recommend Schuggie!
I would tell you to choose Schuggie as he was brillant as he knew me and my husband are both deaf and we don’t know good music but seen his facebook plus instagram too and knew we made the best choice to choose him. our families are hearing and deaf also both hearing and deaf friends we all had a brilliant night. So i would rate more than 5 stars because we had so much laughers.
