Absolutely appalling customer service.
Refund refused after lawful return – very disappointing experience.
I returned a pair of walking shoes purchased online after briefly trying them on to assess fit and comfort. I am walking 100 miles for charity and need to ensure they are right. I realised I needed a larger size and ordered the correct size the same day.
Schuh have refused to refund the returned pair, claiming there are “signs of wear”. However, the shoes were only tried on for a few minutes and their own inspection photo does not show meaningful wear to the soles.
As a result, I have effectively been charged £89.99 twice for one pair of shoes. I have raised the matter with customer services and referenced my rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, but the refund has still been refused.
This has been a very frustrating experience and I hope Schuh will review the situation and resolve it appropriately.
