I am one of the many volunteers at the Ruislip shop. I had had the privilege to work with some wonde

I am one of the many volunteers at the Ruislip shop. I had had the privilege to work with some wonderful people over the last two years and it was a sad day then we announced our closure in February 2026.While I understand that Scope is in the business of making money and the retail shops are a loss leader i feel the way the volunteers were being treated was extremely poor. We have some volunteers that have work at Scope for 10 plus years with some 20 plus years all helping and putting in extra shifts to help make money for scope. I understand that the world is changing and that charity shops are not making profits but what i dont understand is why NOBODY from Scopes higher management could not take the time to say Thank you to the volunteers for the hard work they have put in over the years. A number of my colleges are upset by the closure and are hurt by the lack of any information as to why we are closing, but while i know I will not get a response, perhaps someone high up in Scope could advise me how much it costs to say Thank you.

A Hotbed Of Unpleasant Behaviour

The Scope Online Community is a hotbed of unpleasantness in many instances, and certain 'highly strung' individuals are permitted to bait others with impunity.Members are told by moderators to report abuse, and not to retaliate. This is completely unrealistic, especially when no action appears to be taken against the perpetrator(s).Expect to be treated as a favourite, or with a high handed indifference. The 'anxiety and depression' crowd seem to be one of the favoured groups. The physically disabled? Not so much.

Scammers, there are much better causes out there where to money actually gets to the front line.

I purchased an item on ebay for sale by scope. They seem to sell a fair amount of stuff. The goods they sold me were faulty and they clearly knew they were faulty. It was a beach trolly that holds 300kg with 4 wheels and a pull handle. I did not unpack until a couple of months later as it was winter and it is for the summer. I unpacked it this week only to find the tyres on the wheels were shredded. It had been opened and reboxed. Scope refused to do any form of return of the goods or money. The CEO alone earns £150k per yer from the charity so clearly the money does not all go to the cause. They have hundreds of employees so probably around 10% of donations actually get to the area it should be supporting. Little did they know how much I donate each year and that has just ceased as of Monday morning. Not another penny from me. Scammers

This is the first to using scope energy as I'm struggling to top up until I next get paid. They was very helpful and I managed to get support with my top up. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is struggling.

I ordered a desk off of Ebay

I ordered a desk off of Ebay, a month later it still hasn't arrived they refused to issue me a refund so I had to open a case regarding it, ebay have not yet refunded me for more than 3 weeks, when I ask for my refund the woman Helen states "I canr issue a refund during an open case" but when I researched it she absolutely can, I had to go and pay for anorher desk which set me back alot and now I want my money back

In it for themselves!

Do not trust this charity! In it for themselves!I had someone from Scope knock at my door today, he was polite at first and introduced himself then explained about the charity.I explained that I wasn't able to support at that moment and the guy replied with "The more you put in the more commission I get, I want to buy stuff for my kids". After this he said no more about the charity, I politely said again that I couldn't support but the guy kept on and on about different ways I could pay and how he would get more commission. After firmly saying "No" The guy tutted and shrugged his shoulders before storming off down the road.In the seven years I've lived in this area I've had a lot of charity callers but never from a charity called scope. Now out the blue just weeks before Christmas someone turns up and only talks about the charity for two minutes then spends five minutes on how he will get extra commission?! It's supposed to be a charity!! Or is it really a charity?? It's clear you are trying to scam people, get a life and real job or I will call the police!

Please stop coming to my door…

Please stop coming to my door canvassing.I don't donate to random charities I have no background on, and now you're turning up at my door despite the no cold callers sign. This is actually bordering an offense, as the sign explicitly states removal of implied right of access.

Ungrateful member of staff - Kenilworth

I dropped off donations today at the Kenilworth shop. The man at the counter didn’t even look up (was busy drawing lines on a piece of paper with a ruler) when I asked where he wanted the donations. He just replied with ‘put them there on the floor’. No please or thank you. Just rude.

A Disability Forum that is Delusional and Judgemental…

A disability forum that is delusional and judgemental.Where points are used as a weapon, yet the very members that employ this method to chastise others object when it is done to them.Criticism and opinions are not allowed on the forum.Serious discussion are allowed to be hijacked and trivialised and when the original poster tries to get the thread back on track they are attacked and so the thread is closed down. The moderators are not looking for new ideas or suggestions as to how the forum could be run better. It is run their way with no input from the members that actually use the forum. The forum operates a 'three strikes and you are out' policy. We are led to believe strikes are not given lightly, but I would suggest this is not the case as some are given within a couple of minutes of a member posting. Strikes are forever and do not expire after 90 days as other forums do.The strikes decision is final. The forum does not have enough staff to operate properly and some members looking for support are missed. Not the friendly, supportive forum you might expect from a disability forum.
