I guess I'm going to have to give up on trying to exchange a TEC shirt in khaki color. I've spent over $600 with Scottevest over the last year, and am generally satisfied with their products. However, a recent order included a TEC shirt in khaki color which had three small spots or streaks of black in different areas. To me it seemed like the horizontal streaks were black plastic embedded fabric bits. When I contacted customer service by email, I didn't get a response. When I went back a week later to email them again, I got a pop up window offering a live chat, so I did that. I was surprised by the amount of information that I was required to give, such as the lot number of the item (she referred to it as the PO number) and photographs of the defective areas. I really just wanted to exchange it for the same shirt with no blemishes. I have since started another chat in which the representative said she would check on it. I had to move on instead of waiting online for a response, and ended the chat by requesting that she send me an email when she had determined the status of my claim. I still have not received a response. In the current online retailing environment I am used to companies exchanging your items with no questions asked. Not so with Scottevest. I have better things to do than monitor my timeline to make sure that I am within the 30 day return policy. While the shirt was moderately priced ($90 if I remember correctly), I would rather forget it than make it a life priority to win the exchange battle.I like their clothes, but not enough to put up with being dissed by their consumer unfriendly customer service.
