I have long looked for a vest with pockets for occasions when I don't want to have to carry a purse. I have finally found just what I was looking for. The Travel Vest from ScotteVest isn't a vest to which someone applied a lot of pockets - it's an incredible well thought out system. For example, through a space between the jacket and lining, it is possible to have a cord connect from a surplus battery in one pocket plug into a phone or tablet in another, or run the earbud cords so they are at the ready. If there is something closed with velcro, there is a tab to pull to open it. There is a chamois tethered into the glasses pocket printed with a map of all the pockets. There is also a RFID blocking pocket for your credit cards and passport. All but 3 of the pockets are located on the inside of the vest (there are 2 handwarmer pockets and a pocket on the back that are reached from the outside), so you will have to reach inside your vest to access them, but that also makes them more secure. The vest is a good year round weight (they do have heavier and lighter weight options). The pockets are laid out in a way so that the weight is well balanced. I read reviews that the women's vest runs small so I ordered up a size and it is large enough to fit comfortably over a sweater.
