I've been to both Blade Runner and Romeo and Juliet and this is so much more than just cinema.You get given a character if you want to participate, little quests to go off and do and basically win little keepsakes for doing the quests. Talk to staff/film characters whose likenesses are amazing compared to the film.As the film plays, parts are acted out in front of you which creates a beautiful juxtapose of a cinematic experience.Dress up and get involved.In the weeks before the event, you get a character to 'play' yourself if you so choose. Little hints and tips to 'play' along, find a character and move your own personal story along. A rough guide to what your character may wear. For a couple of hours before the actual film, you play out a fantasy role, an extension of the film itself, speaking to amazing staff, being told a new tip to push the story along. This is not just a film and a bite to eat.This is a fully immersive experience, how far you immerse yourself is up to you of course, but this is a vital part of Secret Cinema, knowing it is immersive, which I feel other reviewers are really missing and that is actually a sad thing as that IS the Secret Cinema experience.
