In terms of trust, Securly as a company has been caught selling collected information(which is a lot, including mouse movements and keystrokes). Why do schools still trust them? Selling detailed data of children should have been the last straw to begin with! I have a newfound hatred of gnomes because I can’t use the iCloud website because of “Messaging services” even though I need it to turn in assignments because I use Keynote instead of Google Slides. It makes my browser(safari) run horribly slow(30-60 sec to load a single page) and really feels more like mal/spyware because it affects all devices on the internet. The service is server based which in turn means that they can collect all the data they want, and if they get hacked or become corrupt like we already know they are, all of your personal data is in the public domain. Do we see the issue in that? Honestly. They sell this crap to people who couldn’t care less about that kind of stuff. It’s an absolute surveillance state and it’s really creepy. You really can’t know who's watching. I genuinely feel safer on apps run directly by the Chinese government than on the web being watchdogged by Securly.
