The planning of our trip was managed incredibly well and I am sure that we would have had a fabulous two weeks in Vietman. However Covid19 happened and I am appalled at the way Selective Asia have conducted themselves. When you book a package holiday and it is cancelled for reasons beyond your control such as this, you are entitled in law to a full refund from your holiday company. Selective Asia acknowledged this but told us they could not afford to refund everyone and would only offer us what they could get back from their suppliers or to reschedule (we would have to pay any increase in cost). We were initially offered less than half our money back with a flight voucher that we simply didn't want. We reached a stale mate until eventually I threatened to take legal action against the company. We were then offered a settlement that refunded around 85% of what we paid. We accepted this in order to draw a line under it. For the reviewer below me, your travel insurance is not obliged to refund a package holiday in these circumstances, your holiday company is obliged in law to provide you with a full refund. I really regret booking with Selective Asia as the other company we nearly booked with have followed the law and refunded all of their customers in full.
