Will Never Order from Selkie Again

Only giving two stars because I received one of my items and was refunded for the other one. I placed an order two weeks ago for two items that match and very clearly are meant to be worn together (they’re even modeled together on the site). The first item shipped immediately and arrived within 4 days. The second item still said processing. After two weeks my order still hadn’t shipped. I reached out to customer service 3 times total to ask about the order. They responded quickly the first & second time, but the second time they said they would look into why my dress hadn’t been shipped and then just didn’t respond. When they responded a 3rd time, they told me that the dress was out of stock and immediately refunded me. No asking if I wanted the dress in a different size, no communication about it— nothing. While they offered me 25% off my next purchase as well, there’s no way in hell I’m going to trust creating a whole new order for them to possibly not send that either, because they neglected to tell me that they don’t have the item. It would have made more sense to ask if I wanted another item of the same price, rather than immediately refunding me, considering I now own an overskirt with no dress to match it. Why even send me the dress’s matching item if you knew you did not have the dress? I feel scammed by this company. At least I was refunded, but it’s really shoddy when a customer has to reach out to the company, rather than the company reaching out to rectify the situation and explain they’re lacking inventory, BEFORE shipping half the dress/order. They continuously run sales and keep dropping new items, but don’t bother to check their inventory. Many people do get their items, sure. However, I found by checking Facebook that they do have a habit of keeping customers in the dark for weeks before letting them know they don’t have their items in stock.
