I bought a lifetime license for an email tool years ago and only started using it recently for self-publishing. I knew it was a minimalist tool focused on essentials, and I was fine with that. However, not being able to create email templates without upgrading was odd, but I accepted it. The double opt-in requirement was the last straw. If you use another lead generation tool that already confirms emails (like I did), and connect it to this service via API, leads must click on the confirmation email from this tool to be able to email them, even after they've already consented and received a confirmation from the other tool. The only way to disable double opt-in is to upgrade, which makes me question why I should pay for basic features that are locked behind a paywall. It feels more beneficial to invest in another tool that offers full functionality. I've started migrating to another platform, as I want to get the most out of my investment. Why settle for a limited tool just to disable a feature and reach out to my own contacts?
