I got a set of knives for Christmas. A beautiful set of knives that were as sharp as advertised. These knives have a wooden handle and a fantastic design on the blade. They have been wonderful to use and I take very good care of them. THE PROBLEM I HAVE is with customer service. I had one knife handle(Bread Knife), that developed a crack not even a month after opening. Does it affect the way the knife cuts? NO. Does it look bad? YES! I contacted Senken and very eloquently told I should do a home repair because it is a wood handle and it happens sometimes. Ok, if I would have had these for a while I could maybe understand this, but a MONTH? No not a chance. I was then offered a discounted price for a new knife, but that would mean I would still have to spend more money. I have already spent $500+ dollars on these knives. I am and was not asking for an entire replacement of the knife set and the issue is a defect from them. They have refused to replace it. If it wasn't for this interaction I would give these knives a 5 star rating. Senken needs to do better.
