I purchased a gift card as a Christmas present, and the recipient later informed me that when she tried to use it, there was only $1.00 remaining on the card. When she contacted customer service, she was told the card had been cloned and that I needed to contact Sephora directly to resolve the issue.
I then called customer service myself to explain the situation. The representative initially said he did not understand the problem because the gift card had already been used. I explained again that we were told the card had been cloned as the recipient had not used the gift card. He responded that there was nothing he could do and that my bank needed to get involved. When I tried to ask additional questions, I felt rushed off the phone and that he was unwilling to help or provide any further clarification.
I expected much better customer service and support in resolving what appears to be fraud.
