My wife wanted a cordless vacuum that would be lighter to carry up and down the stairs than our Miele. We did some research and bought a Shark. I wish we had actually borrowed one to try out rather than just going on reviews. After about 3 months use I wish we had never heard of it, such a waste of money. Our old Miele was SO much better.Briefly, suction is poor and it doesn't get into corners and awkward spaces easily. You find that it "drops" bits you think you've picked up and have to put the hoover on boost to get them picked up. Then if you leave it on boost so you can actually pick stuff up, the battery drains at an alarming rate. Then you have to re-charge it before you can do the upstairs - we have an average sized 4 bed house, about 1,600 sq ft.I can scarcely bring myself to use it, I get so furious with it. Don't take my word for it, try and find someone that has bought one and see if you can borrow it for a couple of days to try out. I would be surprised if you bought one afterwards. I'm going to buy a Henry and leave the Shark upstairs. Big mistake, I would never, ever, consider buying another one. Do your own research, don't believe the glowing reviews, we did and certainly learned an expensive lesson.
