I, Raul Herberto, resident in Mozambique, hereby submit this formal notice regarding a dispute involving my account and a package currently held by your company.
I purchased a product through eBay and used Shipito’s forwarding service because the seller did not ship directly to Mozambique. The package was successfully delivered to Shipito’s warehouse in the United States and I subsequently requested international shipment to Mozambique.
For the shipment, I selected the carrier United States Postal Service (USPS), with tracking number CY189056814US.
The shipment initially proceeded normally. However, after leaving the United States, the package was unexpectedly returned to the sender. When I contacted Shipito support, I was informed that the reason for the return was unclear and that I should wait until the package arrived back at the warehouse.
Once the package returned, I was informed that the issue allegedly resulted from an incorrectly completed customs declaration. I was also told that the shipping carrier would not refund the freight cost, leaving me financially disadvantaged.
Because I did not consider this resolution fair, I opened a dispute through PayPal, the payment provider used for the shipping transaction. After reviewing the case, PayPal ruled in my favor and issued a refund for the shipping cost.
Following this decision, Shipito blocked my account and demanded that I repay the refunded amount as a condition for releasing my package. Furthermore, Shipito disabled the payment method associated with my account, preventing me from making any payment even if I wished to resolve the matter.
As a result, I am currently unable to access my account functions or retrieve my property, while my package remains in Shipito’s possession.
I consider this situation to constitute unfair business practice and wrongful retention of personal property.
Therefore, through this letter I formally request that Shipito:
Immediately restore access to my account.
Release and ship my package without further obstruction.
Provide a fair resolution to this matter without additional financial penalties.
If this matter is not resolved within 7 business days of receipt of this notice, I will be compelled to pursue further actions, including filing formal complaints with the:
Better Business Bureau
Federal Trade Commission
and exploring additional legal remedies available under applicable consumer protection and commercial law.
I hope this matter can be resolved quickly and amicably.
Sincerely,
Raul Herberto
