I am being ignored by Hildur Hauksdóttir, one of the owners(!!) of the company, who seems to be the only one who deals with emails for customers in Iceland. Over a month ago, I requested consolidation of my items (all small with the exception of two boxes which could be shipped separately) and instead of taking items out of their boxes (which we all know packaging takes up too much space, that’s why we’re here using a repackager!) she or someone else put all my boxes on a pallet and wrapped them in plastic wrap. I immediately wrote an email and asked for the items to be taken off the pallet and repackaged. No reply for a week. I started sending emails every day asking for a reply. This is when I received my only reply in the last month: Hildur tells me the pallet can only be sent by FedEx freight and asks if I’d like her to set that up for me. Another option she gives me is to put it on a ship, but she says she has no idea how long that will take nor when the next ship is coming. I go on fedex’s website and enter the dimensions of the pallet into their frieght calculator and see that it will cost $500-1,000 to send. These items are not valuable; we’re talking some face wash, clothes, some baby items. It’s absolutely madness that these items are on a pallet. I write back again asking to take the items off the pallet and consolidate into boxes, as the shopUSA website advertises. No response. I have my husband write her in Icelandic, and she immediately responds asking for the suite number. As soon as she finds out it’s my suite number she stops replying to him. I have looked up their business info in Iceland and the phone numbers for ShopUSA on record are all disconnected. No one answers the phone number in Atlanta. Their physical address in Iceland on record is incorrect. I have emailed the general email, Hildur’s email, and the regional email address and no reply. At this point ShopUSA is holding my items ransom and I have no idea when or if I will get ahold of them. The worst thing is, most of the items were for our baby’s Christening, which is next week, and we will not get the items in time. So much anger and frustration. Shame on you, Hildur and ShopUSA! All you have to do is take a few boxes off a pallet and rebox them (which is literally your job!) and you can’t even manage that. Shame shame shame!
