I rented a car for just two days in January 2026 from Sixt at Nice airport. Everything was smooth and pleasant until the vehicle return.
After returning the car, I never received a final inspection report or a final invoice. Despite that, SIXT started charging my American Express card. First there was a charge for wheel damage, which never occurred. Now, three months later, I have received another charge for almost $1,500 without any explanation or supporting documentation.
To this day I have not received a signed return inspection report, damage report, repair invoice, or any paperwork explaining these charges.
This has become a complete nightmare for a simple two-day rental.
I strongly advise anyone renting from SIXT to carefully document the vehicle condition at pickup and return and make sure you receive all final paperwork before leaving.
