I've been a Sixt customer for over a year, rentals and Sixt+ subscription, and I need to separate two very different experiences.

The staff at every location I've visited have been amazing. Professional, helpful, and genuinely trying to do right by the customer. This review has nothing to do with them.

This is about everything else.

Sixt's customer service, online booking system, and Sixt+ subscription management are, to put it plainly, terrible. You call customer service, get one answer. Call back, get a completely different one. Send an email, good luck getting a response at all. When you do finally reach someone, they blame the local branch, or just tell you they can't do anything. The branch says it's corporate. Corporate says it's the subscription team. The subscription team ghosts you. No accountability. No consistency. No resolution.

But the billing is where it goes from frustrating to unacceptable.

They send you promotional coupons and discounts that don't actually work on any reservation,try to apply them and they're invalid, expired, or mysteriously not applicable. They charge your card without notice or authorization. They tack on additional fees with zero communication. I've been double charged for my monthly Sixt+ subscription. And when you try to dispute any of it? See above, the runaround starts all over again.

At this point, it's not just bad customer service. It's a billing practices problem. When a company charges your card without telling you and makes it nearly impossible to get answers, that's not a glitch — that's how they operate.

The frontline staff deserve better. The customers paying premium prices every month absolutely deserve better. I genuinely wanted this to work, but after more than a year of this, I can't recommend Sixt to anyone.

Get it together, Sixt.
