Usually I do not write many reviews, but this time Sixt messed up 3 times in one reservation. I rented a car several weeks in advance on sixt.com . I had some questions, and I used the "contact us" button on the website in that particular reservation. Never got a reply (waited more than a week).When we arrived to pick the car, we were asked for a credit card. We gave them 8 different VISA and Mastercard where SIXT could reserve any amount that they wanted, and on some of these cards I am even allowed to have overdraws. But they wanted a credit card. When I said that I do not have other cards, then they said that they will simply cancel the reservation. I said ok and went to Europcar where we got a car with the same card.Finally, later in the day I checked my Sixt app, and the reservation was still active. So, even though we were told at the counter that the reservation is now cancelled, it wasn't. So, if I didn't check, then it would a no show for us.I used to like Sixt a lot. But now they can simply cancel your reservation without providing any alternatives. They do not answer when you contact them, and you cannot trust what they say - even if they say that the reservation is now cancelled, you have to check yourself. Given all this I believe the rental company should not get more than 2 stars. Will try to avoid them in the future - both personally and when I travel with my company.
