This was the most disappointing online shopping experience I've ever had. I saw numerous advertisements and received plenty of emails, leading me to believe they were efficient. I attempted to order three sets of skis as Christmas gifts for a ski trip on December 27th. Fortunately, one of the skis was out of stock, prompting me to order from another seller on December 2nd, and I received my skis with mounted bindings by December 8th after a few emails. Their communication was outstanding. I placed an order with the company on December 1st, and after receiving my other set of skis, I reached out to them a few days later when my order hadn't arrived. This is where my frustration began. I dislike a lack of communication or responses to inquiries. Reaching them by phone was nearly impossible; I spent about six hours trying to get answers, to no avail. I eventually received an email suggesting I could pay an extra $100 for faster shipping. Two weeks had passed since my order, and it still hadn't shipped. I was extremely dissatisfied. You could leave a message, but callbacks were nonexistent. After a few days, I finally got assistance from one representative who was helpful and updated the shipping for what I thought were both sets of skis for expedited delivery. By December 17th, I received one set on December 19th, but still had no news on the second set. I reached a breaking point and demanded a response by noon on December 18th or I would cancel my order. Losing faith that I would receive my skis before Christmas, I placed an order with another seller at 12:10 PM on December 18th. Shortly after, I received a response from the company apologizing and promising to expedite my order. I informed them it was too late, as I had already ordered from someone else, and they did issue a refund.
I received the skis from the other seller on December 20th. The only representative who was responsive was the one I mentioned earlier. It seems the company takes on too many orders without the capacity to fulfill them in a timely manner. If you have all the time in the world and don’t mind waiting over three weeks, this might be the place for you. I hope this was just an isolated incident.

Our motto of “Gear for Skiers by Skiers” is about as real as it gets. We’re not some city shop that’s nowhere near a mountain; we live and play in the heart of the Green Mountains in Stowe, Vermont. We have access to the best terrain and snow on the east coast, and we take full advantage of it. We actually get on the skis we sell to ensure that you find the proper setup for you.
Based in Stowe, Vermont, SkiEssentials.com has come a long way over the years. Starting out 30 years ago as Bedside Tuners, a small tune shop in Stowe, the company grew to become what are now Pinnacle Ski and Sports and Inner Bootworks. The online business was a logical next step, and we made our first online sale in the basement office of our brick and mortar store in October of 2004, and we haven’t looked back since.See more
