I am beyond disappointed with my experience with Sklum. It has been an exhausting ordeal, filled with frustration and a shocking lack of responsibility from their side. Here are the facts:Defective Product and Missing Parts: I received a bed missing a crucial component, making it incomplete. This was entirely their fault as the seller.Damaged Packaging: The product arrived in packaging that was ripped and unusable for returns. Despite explaining this to their customer service and carefully repacking the bed securely for shipment, I was told after, this wasn’t acceptable because it wasn’t in “carton boxes.” Nowhere in their stated return policy does it require items to be packed in boxes.Contradictory Policies: Their website explicitly states, “It is not necessary to return it in its original packaging. However, it must be diligently packed in such a way that it does not suffer any damage during transport.” I followed this policy to the letter, yet my return is still being rejected. Sourcing boxes of the size required was impossible—something Sklum should have considered before demanding such absurd solutions.Unacceptable Customer Service: Their customer service representative, Amanda, repeatedly shifted responsibility to me and ignored my clear explanations. Despite following their instructions and going out of my way to resolve the issue (at my own expense and time), I have been met with rigidity and a lack of basic problem-solving.No Accountability: Sklum seems unwilling to own up to their mistakes, instead enforcing arbitrary rules that punish the customer. This is not just bad service—it’s disrespectful and unfair.Under EU consumer protection laws, sellers are obligated to provide goods that are in conformity with the contract. If a product is defective or incomplete, the seller must offer a repair, replacement, or refund at no additional cost to the consumer. Furthermore, it is not obligatory to return a faulty product in its original packaging. The seller cannot use the absence of original packaging as a reason to deny your legal guarantee rights. Sklum must collect the product in its current, securely packed condition. I will not waste more time or money meeting absurd demands for carton boxes this size when this was:1. Not a stated requirement, and2. Quite literally impossible as I have researched this too.This entire situation is a disgrace. Sklum’s behavior is not only unprofessional but borders on unethical. If this issue is not resolved immediately, I will escalate this matter to consumer protection authorities and share this experience widely across online platforms to ensure other customers are warned about your practices.You have a responsibility to fix this. Enough is enough. I expect a resolution now.
