Bought a return ticket athens to london in aug 2025 for jan 2025. Tried to do an online check in the day before my flight but was getting a system error, not clear. Called their support which actually uses a paid 0801 line. Was told that they keep some seats for families etc and I should check in at the airport... Rushed earlier at the airport only to be told in a rude way that the flight is overbooked and I might not travel!!! I was shocked as I travel a lot, tens of flights every year but it was my first time to be on standby even though I had a valid ticket. Staff at gate even more rude, claiming its normal and its almost my fault!!! When I told that I never had this before in the 40 years I fly internationally, they told me that they dont believe i fly often!!! 4 of us in the same standby state. Actually there were at least 8 empty seats in that flight and all of us travelled in terrible shock. No apologies offered, like they did us a favor. Seems that this company does this trick systematically, several other reviews mention exactly the same. Was squashed in a seat with no usb and not even a seat bag. Still my knees were touching the seat in front altough i am only 1.75.No wifi. No food, just a single mini biscuit and juice or water.Only positive was landing on time in gatwick which is really disgusting, very dirty toilets.Return flight was still a shock, their system was again not allowing me to purchase a seat, had to call their support to be able to pay for that.Gatwick still quite awful with dirty toilets and a terrible hassle to reach.Return plane a bit better, had seat bags this time. No usb no wifi. Same single biscuit and juice or water. At least it was half empty in that flight.Its amazing that in 2026 an airline bought new planes without usb or wifi.Would never travel with them again as I want to be treated respectfully and I am too old for such travel or no travel shocks.
