I bought a lancet home test kit (the only sort available in the UK), after which I delved into the research papers on their website. On the one comparing the snap and lancet kits they say that 3.97% of lancet test results in the study were incorrect - all were females incorrectly resulted as male (assumedly due to contamination). One can therefore assume that for male results only ~92% are accurate with normal use, not the 99% they claim (which seems only to apply where blood is drawn in a clinical setting or with snap). I asked to cancel my order before delivery and was refused. They instead say I have to return it to the USA (despite it being shipped from a UK warehouse) at my own cost. As it has to be returned within 30 days I can't use freight shipping, so it'll cost ~£11-£15. All to return a product which isn't nearly as accurate as they say, and that I therefore no longer wish to use. This company clearly has no regard for the psychological impact on customers of incorrect results, and is using data misleadingly to make sales. I've reported to Trading Standards. Oh and they have opted to use Californian consumer rights not UK ones as a company (apparently they're allowed to do this?!) which disadvantages UK customers as citizens advice are unable to advise.
