The store at Kipling/Queensway in Etobicoke has permanently closed as of last October, and that's a relief. They were selling expired pet food with a date of 09/15/23 still on the shelves. This is over two years past its expiration! It's shocking how this could happen. I ended up buying some, unaware of the expiration date, which resulted in my dog suffering from food poisoning and nearly dying. After two days of severe illness, I faced hundreds of dollars in vet bills due to a $2.00 can of dog food. I am currently reaching out to the company to understand how this situation occurred. Customers need to be vigilant about checking expiration dates; it seems corporations prioritize profits over safety. Today it was pet food, but tomorrow it could be food for people or children. If they can sell subpar products without consequence, they will. Large corporations must be held accountable for their actions. A one-star rating feels too generous, but it's the lowest option available. I won't be returning to this store.
