I chose Sofology because they are an established company, and with spending over £6k on furniture, I wanted to ensure I was using what I thought was a reputable brand which would have reliable service. Unfortunately, my recent experience fell well short of expectations.
I had a sofa delivery scheduled two weeks in advance, with a confirmed delivery window of a Friday between13:30–17:30. What followed was a series of errors, broken promises, and complete lack of accountability.
1. Broken tracking system & misleading delivery updates.
The live tracking link didn’t work, so at 15:00 I phoned customer service to find out where the van was. I was advised they had just completed stop 7 and I was stop 8, meaning there were still 2.5 hours left in the delivery window for them to reach me. Unexpectedly at 16:47, I unexpectedly received a message saying my sofas could not be delivered, with no explanation whatsoever. This cancellation came while still well within the delivery window, making it even more frustrating.
2. No explanation and no accountability from staff
I phoned back immediately. The adviser said she would speak to the warehouse, but all she could tell me afterwards was: “They’ve said they can’t make the delivery.”
They were still unable to provide a reason for the cancellation, but simply stated the delivery team had started 1 hour late. Even with that being the case, the fact I had spoken to an advisor at 3pm who said I was the next stop giving 2 and a half ours to get to me, gave them more than enough time.
They will have distribution centres across the country, and so you’d expect my sofas to be delivered to a distribution centre within a delivery mileage distance that allows multiple drop offs withing a timeframe, and not require journeys between stops being hours. This is further backed up by the fact they had already made 7 deliveries that morning.
When I asked to speak to a complaints department, she told me she couldn’t transfer me, but stated someone would call me back by 17:30, or failing that, the next day (Saturday). I received no call on either Friday or Saturday!
3. Inconsistent information & continued lack of follow-up
On Sunday I received a text claiming they had attempted to call to rebook, but I had zero missed calls.
When I called yet again, I was told something entirely different—that the complaints callback policy was actually 72 hours, not the same day or next day like communicated to me. I was assured I’d be contacted by the end of Monday. 72 Hours and the end of Monday has been an gone, and as of yet someone is yet to contact me.
4. Real impact: wasted holiday leave & ruined event
The cancellation didn’t just inconvenience me—it had real consequences.
I lost a day of annual leave waiting for a delivery that never arrived. Worse still, I was hosting a gender reveal for family and friends later that day. I had planned the event around the new sofas being delivered, but because Sofology cancelled without warning or explanation, I had no seating for my guests.
I expected better from a well-known company like Sofology. The complete lack of communication, transparency, and customer care is astonishing. From a broken tracking system, to unexplained cancellations, to conflicting information and ignored call-back promises—this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before ordering from Sofology. Having spent over £6k on my initial order, I was planning on using Sofology to Furnish my conservatory too at a later date. After this experience I will be going elsewhere.
Update as of 01/04/2026 - As you can see from the sofology response below, instead of getting in contact with me (my order number was left when submitting the review so they knew who to contact), they copied and pasted the same generic response, and stated that if I did want to discuss (which is obvious based on my review complaint) I should send them a further follow up email. This further support my statement regarding extremely poor customer service.
