The scent now carries a sharp urine-like smell, and instead of being long-lasting and irresistible, it fades quickly. It genuinely feels like the formula has been altered with cheaper ingredients.At first, Sol de Janeiro gave us an amazing product at an affordable price. But now it feels like they’ve cut corners for profit. Even my stepdaughter, without knowing which fragrance was being tested, said “it smells like urine” when sprayed in store.For me, the brand has lost the magic it once had. Sol de Janeiro 71 has gone from a signature scent to something I can’t wear anymore—and I know I’m not alone in feeling this way.
