Very disappointed with the claims process. Had a claim in since May 28th 2024 due to Myself falling ill at the airport an hour before departure. We were suppose to spend 10days in Florida but it never went to plan. Southdowns have asked for several docments and finally sent our claim off to the medical team 26th July 2024. I am now on 43 working days (10weeks) since the medical team have started the review and still no update. Rang up several times and was told a new wait time each time (originally it was 10 working days now they said 60 working days). It seems my claim isnt handled by one person and being reviewed by several people yet the call handlers can not contact the medical team to confirm. We are thousands out of pocket with no answers on if we will get the money back, the stress this claim has caused is unreal which hasnt helped my condition. There is no way to track the claim and keep updated on the process and the team you ring for updates dont seem to have any idea how to handle the situation. We have a complaint in already and will then take it to the ombudsman as i believe changes need to be made so another person does not have to go through this in the future.
