I had the worst experience with Southdown insurance. I don’t normally leave reviews but am doing so to save others from the same mistake. I had a cancelled return journey due to the recent storms so had to book emergency accommodation and travel back the next day. They use a company called AXA to process claims, Throughout the whole process I was not able to speak to someone who could solve the issue, the person who answers the calls takes the information and passes it on to the department. I would then receive emails back which contained wrong information and each time they would close the claim and I would have to phone again. I have given up trying to claim for emergency accommodation and instead will never use them again. I am thankful it was just one night. I would hate to use this insurance company and have a more expensive issue. The whole process was very stressful due to such poor communication and I would recommend avoiding. I should have read the reviews more closely, most of them speak about the excellent customer service when taking out insurance or making changes to a policy. There are very few detailing experiences when making a claim. If you look at 'AXA UK' reviews on Trustpilot you will see who actually deals with Southdowns insurance claims - and they are all 1 star terrible reviews.
