One star is too much for these scammers. They are good at taking money, but when you need them, they vanish. My train from Paris to London was cancelled in May 2023 and I had to book a flight instead and spend another night in Paris. I made a claim in June with this insurance company and they were very unresponsive. Each time I contacted them there was a different clueless person taking ages to respond. All I wanted was a response to take this further to the Ombudsman, because I am sick and tired of all the nonsense and their so called platinum insurance. At first Southdowns said they can give me only 35£ back, although I spent 350£ on the flight + hotel. Then, when they noticed I’m not giving up (after 7 months), they decided to transfer 55£ in my account, probably thinking this will keep my mouth shut. Each time you contact them they say it can take up to 8 weeks to solve a case, but in reality it’s been taking more than 7 months and it’s far from being solved.Do yourself a favour and find another insurance company. This one asks people for reviews immediately after the insurance is purchased, this doesn’t reflect their rubbish non-existent service. The 5 star Defaqto rating is a lie.
