I booked travel insurance with Southdown insurance. After not hearing back from the company, I called to receive an update on my claim. Unfortunately the lady that I spoke to was curt and incredibly unhelpful. She hung up whilst I told her I was reading the wording of a paragraph in the policy.She rudely informed me that I was not entitled to my claim, even though it was clear that she had not thoroughly read the details of my claim.I rang back and spoke to Paula. She was polite but the phone line conveniently cut off whilst I was on hold.I then rang again and spoke to a man named Bobby. I told him how, in my policy it states "we will pay you up to £6000 for any irrecoverable unused travel and accommodation costs and other pre-paid charges which you have paid or are contracted to pay, if:- after a delay of at least 12 hours"yet he told me I wasn't entitled to this as I didn't cancel by holiday. He also told me I wasn't allowed to claim for accommodation, even though it states it in my policy.This company proved that the policy isn't worth the piece of paper it was written on as they undermine it anyway.
