So I received a bill which states "Why are water bills going up? To deliver the things you told us matter the most". Then it goes on to inform me about:1. Reducing the number of storm overflow releases2. Fixing more leaks3. Minimising flooding4. Building new reservoirs 5. Delivering excellent customer serviceThis amounts to gross negligence in terms of running a business to me as all five points above are part of their day to day business responsibilities, not additions that we as customers need to pay for. Add to this that Southern Water doubled their CEO's pay to £1.4 million to workaround paying a bonus which they are banned from doing by OFWAT and it all amounts to a company which is taking advantage of its monopoly position. As a customer we cannot change it, politicians are weak and so is OFWAT. But just wait until the next general election, this shower of a company needs taking into public ownership asap. Gas-lighting your customers never ends well.
