The staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything was explained in great detail and I was encouraged to ring them if I had any queries, which I didn’t as they had already answered all my questions. My appointment for surgery was at 11:20 on 12 December but it was about an hour before I was called in. When I asked about the delay they apologised and explained it was due to a technology problem but it would have been helpful if I had been warned about the delay whenI arrived. Once I was called in everything ran very smoothly. The nursing staff were professional and very approachable and the surgeon came to introduce himself and reassure me. After the procedure I was given very clear instructions about how to care for my eye and what to avoid and what I should expect to happen next. Altogether it was a good experience even though the procedure itself felt rather weird. I’m looking forward to having my other eye treated as soon as possible.
