I recently completed a second cataract surgery at Spa Medica, Bolton. The experience was just as good as the first time. The staff at Spa Medica put you at ease with the process from start to finish, from entry to the facility to surgery, each stage of the procedure is explained clearly and any questions you may have are answered without hesitation. I highly recommend Spa Medica Bolton in providing excellent treatment on behalf of the NHS.
I had cataract surgery in June 2024 (see previous review) and attended yesterday for a Yag procedure which clears your vision if it gets blurry at any point after cataract surgery. It's a one off laser treatment and totally pain free. I honestly cannot praise Bromley SpaMedica highly enough! The staff are great and welcoming. The whole procedure was fast, painless and restored my vision to how it was after my cataract surgery. The staff are so friendly, reassuring and look after you really well. I was treated and out within minutes, everything was explained and thrilled with the results. So anyone concerned about having cataracts or Yag please don't be. SpaMedica Bromley are fantastic and we are very fortunate to have access to such excellent facilities.
Having had lens replacement surgery, and 2 subsequent laser procedures on the same eye in Truro, because of clouding over of the lens, I still cannot see out of my eye.
If you have a choice, don't choose spa medica. You are only a number on a conveyor line, and their priority is to get you discharged ASAP I guess to get paid.
No point discussing any further with them now, will be taking this up with a malpractice attorney.

Just had my second cataract procedure two days ago and my vision is perfect.All the staff were courteous and professional as they were on the first occasion .Andre performed both procedures and explained everything before and after and I was out the theatre in no time.Cannot recommend them enough.
Had my second eye cataract op. yesterday followed by rather blurred, cloudy vision (as expected).
Today vision is excellent & totally balanced with the other eye that was operated on 3 months ago.
Having to stare at an intensely bright light for 20 minutes is hardly pleasant, but no injections or pain.
The doctor who carried out my surgery appeared to be extending his skills in this field, but was under the close supervision of the consultant & gaining experience is obviously vital if I expect trained clinicians to meet the possible needs of my children & grandchildren in the future.

The screening appointment was swift following a referral from the opticians, leading to surgery soon after. The staff were outstanding—supportive and extremely helpful—making me feel comfortable and relaxed. The consultant communicated with me throughout the procedure. The aftercare was wonderful, and I eagerly anticipate having the other eye done. This experience has truly transformed my life. Thank you to all the staff!
