I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at your Taunton store. From the outset, the experience was poor. On arrival, I was left unsure if I had even been acknowledged by staff. There was no warm welcome and I felt overlooked and forgotten about, despite waiting for a considerable length of time. The store itself felt overcrowded, with too many people in too small a space and staff appearing disengaged or inexperienced. When I was finally seen, I felt as though I was being sold to rather than supported. The process lacked clarity and left me uncertain whether the recommendations were the right ones for my needs – yet it was difficult to question or challenge. The lack of flexibility in your “buy one, get one free” offer meant I ended up with two identical pairs simply to conclude the transaction and leave, which felt both frustrating and wasteful. To add to this, the cost was high – £280 for “special” computer work glasses – and yet the service received did not reflect such an expense. Overall, the entire experience felt transactional and perfunctory, underpinned by an attitude that “this is the NHS so you can take it or leave it”. However, Specsavers is not the NHS. You are a business trading on a trusted national brand, and with that comes the responsibility to deliver professional service, genuine care and customer respect.Sadly, my experience in Taunton fell far short of that. I left feeling dissatisfied, out of pocket, and determined not to return. I will be taking my custom elsewhere in future.I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues of customer service, staff engagement, and overall experience within your store.
