I came in to collect my 2 specs. It took 35 mins to find them! My daytime specs were fine. However my sunglasses were done with clear glass. It was a mistake by Jon. He apologised and stated that he would get them to me by post or would deliver them himself? within 8 to 9 days. I have just been into store after 14 days as I hadn’t heard anything from Jon. No apology from any staff member, and a junior staff just handed them to me; no service by someone who knew what they are doing.
The service I have received is well below any service, in any other specsavers; I have been to in the past 25 years.
It has put me off specsavers for life, and will not be returning; until I get a full apology from Specsavers

They are very kind and professional. I have known them for years. I can talk to them about my eye problems, and they have given me very useful advice. And the glasses they have are beautiful.

I could book my appointment online. The store was lovely and clean and staff were very polite, helpful and professional. Plenty of frames to choose from. And best of all BOGOF on glasses over £70.

I just wanted to take the time to recognise the staff in the Wisbech store today. I had booked a contact lens consult and also a last minute eye test. I was worried about some vision issues I’ve been having and Lisa the optometrist was fantastic. She listened to all my concerns and I felt she took extra care with the eye tests, seeing as I’d had problems elsewhere. She was a lovely lady to chat to. I didn’t catch the name of her associate who aided me with my glasses order, but she was equally lovely and friendly. I’ve been going here for years now and never had an issue. Thanks all!

Warm welcome and explanation what will happen. Passed over to another colleague who conducted the eye test. The lady was experienced and explained why I had been suffering with watery eyes and how we could combat this going forward. Was very patient as i did struggle to view and I did not feel rushed and was advised to take my time. I felt reassured and was able to carry on. After the test the lady went through pictures of my eye and explained what were looking at. I was then taken to previous colleague who helped with my purchase. If all Specasvers are like this then great training. If not, then send them to Tewkesbury as they were amazing. Thank you

Serious concerns regarding NHS patient experience at Specsavers Greenford (UB6 9PU)
I am writing this negative review in good faith and in the public interest. I am 59 years old and do not write lightly or with hostility. My intention is not to accuse or deceive, but to seek fairness, transparency, and proper standards for NHS patients, particularly those who may be vulnerable.
I attended the Specsavers branch at 20 The Broadway, Greenford, following a GP referral for NHS-funded audiology services. I would like to expressly thank my GP for his professionalism and care over many months; I have no complaint whatsoever regarding my GP or the referral process.
I was fitted with NHS-funded hearing aids which were tested using computer-based equipment both at the time of fitting and again after use. Despite this testing, the hearing aids provided no functional improvement, produced constant background noise, and caused discomfort. No effective NHS-funded alternatives were offered, and I was informed that hearing aids which would improve my hearing were available only through private purchase at significant cost.
During the optical sales process, I was not permitted to independently view or compare NHS-eligible frames or pricing, and I experienced pressure to make decisions quickly. This lacked transparency and informed choice.
I raised these concerns with staff at the time. I do not attribute blame to individual employees; my concerns relate to management practices and oversight.
I call on company management and senior oversight to thoroughly review internal procedures, staff conduct, and any available in-store records, including surveillance where applicable, to ensure compliance with company policy and NHS obligations. A proper and transparent internal review is warranted, as the issues I have observed raise serious concerns about the treatment of NHS patients and the potential prioritisation of sales over patient care.
I will continue to raise these concerns in the public interest so that the NHS and relevant authorities are aware. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this branch to NHS patients who may struggle to advocate for themselves.

I would like to give a shout out to 2 young ladies who helped me today at the Braintree store. I believe their names were Chloe and Beth. They couldn't have been more helpful with my choice of 2 pairs of glasses (normal and sunglasses). I just couldn't find something that I liked and Chloe went back to the cabinet and took more pairs out that weren't on display. Beth took the measurements and was very thorough.
Thank you again !

Specsavers Golden-island Athlone Co Westmeath

Today’s Date is Monday 4th December 2023 and I have PHONED SPECSAVERS GOLDEN ISLAND ATHLONE HUNDREDS OF TIMES REGARDING COLLECTING MY GLASSES FROM SPECSAVERS WHICH I LEFT IN LAST MONDAY MORNING AROUND 10.30am
EIGHT DAYS AGO NOW !!!
THEY SPECSAVERS GOLDEN ISLAND ATHLONE TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD TEXT or PHONE WHEN MY TWO PAIR OF GLASSES WERE COMPLETED

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH SPECSAVERS GOLDEN ISLAND ATHLONE ?????

THIS IS NOT A SERVICE ITS IS AN EMBARRASSMENT FOR SPECSAVERS GOLDEN ISLAND ATHLONE AND A GREAT INCONVENIENCE FOR MYSELF AND I STILL HAVE ANOTHER COUPLE OF GLASSES TO GET THE LINSES REPLACED

This Looks Very Suspicious Especially after what Occurred with ME and the STAFF MEMBER of SPECSAVERS GOLDEN ISLAND ATHLONE last Monday 27th November 2023 someone trying to get their own BACK ON ME AFTER THEY TRIED TO “ SCAM “ ME FOR OVER €100.00 last Monday 27th November 2023

On Monday 27th November 2023 I had an appointment with Specsavers Golden Island Co Westmeath at 10.30am but arrived approximately 9.50am where I was given a chair
I had BOOKED a FULL PRSI Insurance Eye Examination the FREE EXAMINATION and a FREE EAR EXAMINATION ( still to have )

Around 10.49am I was called for what I taught was my Eye Exam but I was brought into a Examination Room a couple of feet squared with NO doors and No Privacy where I was asked a few Questions about my last eye examination then once again I was brought back out to the waiting area

Then about Fifteen Minutes later I was brought into another Examination Room where I did have the Eye Test but she kept asking if I had such a test the last time and that I should have this Specific Eye Test and when I asked was this Included in the FREE PRSI TEST I was told NO their is an extra charge which I wasn’t told so I just said whatever the PRSI INSURANCE ALLOWS FREE “PLEASE”

So the girl finished her Eye Examination and brought me out to the Front of Shop

ALL I WANTED WAS THE LINSES REPLACED IN BOTH FRAMES AS ONE OF THE LINSES WERE SCRATCHED ON BOTH FRAMES
SO I ONLY WANTED THE LINSES REPLACED AS I BOUGHT THE FRAMES THE LAST TIME I GOT MY EYES TESTED ALSO I HAVE ANOTHER FOUR SETS OF LINSES TO BE REPLACED IN MY OTHER FRAMES WHICH I ALSO BOUGH IN SPECSAVERS

SO I LABLED EACH FRAIM WITH A TV or READING STICKER WHICH I STUCK ON THE GLASS
(pic attached )

None of these Incidents are much to complain about but when you put all the “ incidents “ together then a “PICTURE” starts to “ASSEMBLE” …….

Then when it came to paying for replacing the LINSES the girl told me that it would take ONE WEEK MAXIMUM USUALLY SHORTER but NO LONGER
So she made out my BILL for the EYE TEST which is FREE with my PRSI Stamps then the REPLACEMENT of the LINSED for TWO pair of GLASSES which I Purchased the last time I had an Eye Test ( two years ago )
I had already put a Sticker on both sets of frames showing which was for READING and one for TV or IT so they wouldn’t get mixed Up

I WAS GIVEN A BILL FOR OVER €100.00 for the TWO SETS LINSES IN EACH PAIR OF GLASSES …..
I LOOKED WITH ASTONISHMENT WHEN I ASKED HER TO REPEAT THIS FIGURE WHICH SHE DID over €100.00
I then asked her to break down the charges for replacing the two frames with LINSES
Reading / IT Computer

She couldn’t make up the €100.00 them I saw her taking OFF THE STICKER OFF ONE OF THE FRAMES
I INQUIRED WHY ARE YOU DONING THAT ???

WHAT ???

Taking OFF MY STICKER

THEN SHE SAID THAT I HAD TWO PAIR OF GLASSES FOR REPLACING THE LINSES WHICH CAME TO THE PRICE SHE GAVE ME

The breakdown of these I finally got her to Eventually give me the BREAKDOWN

SHE TOLD ME THAT REPLACING THE LINSES FOR A PAIR OF GLASSES WAS €90.00 minus
€32.94 refund from the PRSI CONTRIBUTIONS

SHE ALSO CHARGED ME TWICE FOR THE SECOND PAIR WHEN I ASKED WHY HAVE YOU CHARGED ME THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THE SECOND SET OF LINSES ????

She REPLIED BECAUSE YOU ONLY CAN GET ONE SET OF LINSES WITH THE PRSI CONTRIBUTIONS THATS WHEN YOU GET THE SAME LINSES FOR TWO SETS OF FRAMES

I REPLIED I GOT TWO DIFFERENT SETS Of LINSES IN THE TWO FRAMES I HAD THEM MARKED WITH MY STICKERS WHICH YOU REMOVED !!!!

She replied I must have UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU REQUESTED !!!!

So THE TOTAL COST CAME TO €12.06 each of the Frames TOTAL €24.12 for the Two Frames

Allot of stuff Miss Understood by the Specsavers employee !!!!!!

So the Official Specsavers Price ended UP as ::

€90.00 x 2
€32.94 x 2 both PRSI Refunds from my PRSI Contributions leaving a BALANCE OF €24.12 too PAY for the Two Pair of Glasses

BUT THIS ISNT THE FINISH OF THE SPECSAVERS “GATE”

I phoned SPECSAVERS HEAD OFFICE HENRY STREET DUBLIN AND ASKED FOR “EXACTLY “
WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN ABOVE AND GUESS WHAT ????

NO CHARGE FOR GETTING TWO SETS OF LINSES REPLACED IN THE TWO PAIR OF GLASSES

BY THE WAY I WAS TALKING TO THE HEAD OF CHARGES / BILLING DEPARTMENT

I HAD TO STOP AS I RAN OUT OF CHARACTERS
