I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Specsavers Cromwell Road (Kensington). A few months ago, I purchased an expensive pair of reading glasses from this branch — costing over £300. Yesterday, when I went to use them, the right arm of the frame suddenly came off for no clear reason. I had not dropped or mishandled them.Naturally, I visited the store today expecting a replacement or repair under warranty. To my shock, the manager refused, claiming that such damage is not covered. Instead of offering help, he began speculating that I must have bent them too hard — something I clearly explained was not the case.He even compared my situation to someone buying a pair of shoes and playing football in them — a comparison I found totally inappropriate. These are reading glasses for adults, not sports equipment, and certainly not priced like something disposable. I’ve had cheap £5 reading glasses last longer than this.He eventually offered a discount on a new frame, but I refused. Why should I spend more money on something that failed so quickly — and without support or fair service?I will not return to this store and do not recommend Specsavers based on this experience. A premium price should come with quality, responsibility, and respect — I saw none of that today.
