I would like to file a complaint about SportCity's actions regarding my membership cancellation.I canceled my membership on August 15, 2025 , even though the fixed contract expired on August 19, 2025. Yet, SportCity insists I still have to pay until September 15, 2025 , due to a "one-month cancellation period," which they claim is included in the terms and conditions. However, these terms and conditions were n't clearly visible or understandable when I signed up through their app.According to Articles 6:233 and 6:237 of the Dutch Civil Code, unclear or unbalanced terms and conditions are invalid. Furthermore, Article 7:236 of the Dutch Civil Code stipulates that a subscription can be canceled on a monthly basis after the fixed period, but may not extend beyond the original end date.
