i purchased a 400 dollar office chair in april of 2020. bought a 2 year protection plan. the plan clearly states it starts immediately after the manufacturer warranty exp. the chair has a 5 year warranty. im no rocket scientist but that would mean april of this year the standard warranty exp. anf i have untill april of 2027 till the protection plan exp. just got an email from my plan saying this."We reviewed your receipt. It shows a 2 years) Protection Plan purchased on (04/18/2020). It expired on (04/18/2022). This is why the plan is not active in our system."they are trying to tell me the protection plan started the same day i bought the chair .here is an update to the dealings with this fraudulent company "squaretrade\allstate.i went on chat and talked to prinya and his boss sommaya niether of these two would read back to me the statement in office maxs "protection plan brochure" that clearly states this"WHEN DOES MY COVERAGE START?STANDARD PLANS (does not include accidents ) SquareTrade coverage begins immediately after the manufacturer's warranty expires"its to bad i cant upload this image as to proof of what it shows. what i posted is word for word what it says" i then called and talked to a woman who also repeated the same crap. they are either trained to avoid repeating the text or they are incompetent'. to prove this hector then made this offer. {if they were right and i was wrong why admit it with this?My name is Hector with the SquareTrade Corporate Resolutions Team, and I am reaching out regarding your Trustpilot review. After reviewing your case, I would like to address the outreach you made on October 15 and October 16, 2025. In both instances, we determined that your protection plan had expired. As a reminder, the furniture protection plan begins at the time of purchase. As a one-time exception, I can offer you $250 in compensation, which will be provided as a check to assist you with obtaining a replacement. Please note that the check may take up to six business days for delivery. If you accept this offer, kindly reply with a preferred address for the check to be sent.my reply With all due respect squaretrades protection plans may start when you say. but in contrast the terminology in the protection plan brochure I received at the time of purchase clearly states otherwise. I would strongly suggest this terminology be removed if it has not already, as it is very deceptive at best. 95% of people purchasing this plan will not read the small print in the " protection plan terms and conditions" and while i did and also have an attorney look at this ,it is very vague as when the exact time of plans starts. however it is very clear in the brochure exactly when the coverage starts , his reply My name is Hector with the SquareTrade Corporate Resolutions Team, and I am reaching out regarding your Trustpilot review. In response to your request, the offer was made as a one-time exception. The issue has been reviewed, and it has been determined that the protection plan for furniture begins from the moment of purchase. This is the extent of what we can do in this case.Thank you.Hector GEscalation Analyst - Corporate Resolutions TeamSquareTrade/Allstate Protection Plansso then i sent my address and after 6 days i contacted him and got this sorry excuse. mind you they did nothing for 6 days if this was true."In response to your concern, we have sent out the compensation check of $250 to the address on profile: MY ADDRESS, yet USPS services could not verify the address.
