Theres often an excuse why they can't cover something. I used to have to sell it,and people either liked it or hated it. Then I bought it on a TV and I now understand why they hated it. We were sent back and forth between the manufacturer and them multiple times. Both were happy to take our money, neither were interested in standing behind the product. In this case, Allstate decided that we had a software program, despite us reloading the fix from a manufacturer, which changed nothing. They dont cover software programs, so that was their default. No matter how many hrs we spent loading software with no results, they, Allstate, who had never looked at or touched or tried to fix the tv, held tight to the idea that it was a software issue. Why? Because they didn't cover that. I will NEVER trust allstate for coverage again. Worthless protection from a company that decided b4 we called that it wasn't covered.
Dishwasher and extended warranty purchased at Costco. Dishwasher failed at 4 years, warranty was for 5 years. Sq trade outsources appliance repairs. They work with independent contractors that are known to fall short of quality outcomes. You do not get a repair company with familiar name. First company name given to me had terrible reviews 1 * with BBB complaints and state attorney general complaint . I requested a different company. This was only the beginning of 2 month exercise to finally have a working dishwasher . In hindsight each time you call Square Trade or repair service keep track of date, length of call, get name of person you are speaking with, ticket number of the call. It took me a while to start doing that. It's helpful to have those details. When they say they are escalating your issue to department above them and you will hear back in 2 days call them on day 3. You can then tell them how many times and days ago you've been told this very same thing. Ask to speak with their manager. Continue to get names of person on phone, ticket number and when they will get back to you. I had parts that were to be ordered after the first service. No one actually ever ordered the parts! Call after call they didn't have the parts ordered it was being dealt with by another department... Since the parts are not in they cannot schedule a repair date. When they do not follow through call Costco with the dismal results you are receiving. I made dozens of calls, placed on hold several times per call. There was only one service call made in this entire period at which the tech he said he had to order more parts. Personally I believe he lacked training and didn't know how to fix issue which was a water pump- a common problem. After roughly 6 more weeks they still didn't have the parts. After all that time they decided to not repair machine and issued my purchase price of unit back to me. I doubt this matter would have been resolved had I not kept after them. Perhaps their practice of dragging it on is with the hope you are going to give up and go away. This particular event started 12/23/2025 and I finally have working dishwasher as of 2/23/2026
A complete scam. Still waiting after a month for a dryer repair, multiple calls, been told multiple times it is being escalated and will be contacted through email, will never purchase from Home Depot or anyone offering Allstate warranty again
The worst, my phone crack and they told me to take it to a repair shop and now i need to buy another phone to use while my phone os been repair or stay with out phone wich for people like me that's not an option
I am very disgusted with your customer service and your tracking system. I have called several times to have my furniture fixed, 3 months later I am still getting the run around and my furniture is not fixed. Getting parts should not take 14 weeks!! I deal in customer service every day and if a customer has an issue we do everything to get the answer, not tell you we will email you in 2 days.... Well, you still have not emailed me and I constantly call back....
Under cabinet GE Microwave completely died. Called on 1/14/26 to file a claim. 1st visit from tech was 1/27/26 with no resolution. Almost 2 weeks.
Had to wait almost another 2 weeks for the 2nd visit which was 2/9/26 (today). The microwave is still dead. Wrong parts were ordered per techs for both visits. Not blaming the techs at all. They were very understanding, concerned and courteous.The most recent visit had 5 parts that were ordered but apparently not the right ones.
It is ridiculous especially since this microwave is located in a rental. The tenants have been more than patient.
I should just get a new microwave and be done with this.
I will definitely rethink of getting an extended warranty on an appliance again if this is how the process works. The first time I have ever had an extended warranty.
I did not get a response when I contacted square trade asking how to handle payment to me after the item for which I had been issued payment actually worked after I submitted a claim.
I would leave negative stars if I could. I bought Allstate protection plan for my 1700$ mattress and they said they would cover my mattress for poor workmanship mechanical work. They lied my mattress sunk do to poor workmanship the inside collapsed from being made the wrong way. They did not keep there word they will not cover for what I paid for. They are a scam and a company that doesn't keep there word or get what you pay for. Totally bogus and scam artist. Will not recommend or buy anything from them again.
Horrible!!! Would never again purchase a “protection” plan from this company. Would give a zero star rating if possible. It’s a total waste of money. We had a problem with our refrigerator and received the total run around each time we called—at least 6 or 7 times to get answers/assistance. They referred used to the manufacturer, after trying their “fix” that their “specialist” emailed us to try. Obvious from our conversation with him that he had no clue, when we asked specific questions about what he sent us via email. And, their communication is a problem, with all specialists difficult to understand. We were told their system was down at least 2 or 3 times, and that we should call back. We then submitted for food spoilage reimbursement on 1/14/26. We received an email indicating that processing had occurred, and that we should get another email indicating when the check was mailed, and that should take about 6 business days. NEVER got such an email. Called back 1/23/26, and was told the request was processed on 1/19/26, and within 5 to 7 business days (from 19th) should get check. No check as of 1/30/26. Called back 1/30/26, twice! First person said she was going to send an email to which we should reply. NO email. Second person told us to reply to email sent by them on 1/14/26 to indicate no check has been received. She also said, if no updated email by end of day (1/30/26) we should call back tomorrow. Really??? Likely to get the same run around again. We spent hours on the phone with no real help. It should also be noted that the customer service “specialists” were in a hurry to get off the phone.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Never buying a protection plan from them ever again. I bought a Keurig from Walmart and got a protection plan. It stopped working so I contacted them, and even though the same coffee maker was still available, they sent me options for replacements that were less in price. When I refused, they offered to send me a check for a refund that would take UP TO 6 business days. I waited over 2 weeks and no check. I contacted them again and they voided the check and sent me another. I waited another 2 weeks and still no check. I contacted them again and they said they could only send me a Walmart gift card. And I am still waiting for it.
