If I could give it negative stars I would - original post and update

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLAN. June 7, 2025. Absolute worst. If you have to send your items to be fixed, KNOW that the 2-5 business days is a scam. EVERY experience I have had, I was told (regardless if all they were doing was replacing a screw on the outside of a camera body) it had to be sent back to the original faciltiy and could take 4-5 weeks. That is their norm and they can't/won't tell you what exactly is wrong, or where it is. That turns into months; 4-6 on average in which nothing short of legal action will get them to return your items. The first time it happened, I thought it was a one-time misfortune as the lens to be repaired was really bad. That time, due to their delay, in order to keep working, I had to purchase a new lens and sold my repair when I got it back five months after sending it in. This time, I cannot replace everything I sent in and am unable to work. If you call, they don't give you any further information than what you can find if you log into their site. Allstate should be ashamed to be associated with Square Trade. However, reaching out to Allstate, they also don't care or help either. UPDATE - 7/15/25 - The reply to my review from Square Trade (see below) reiterating their 2-5 business day turnaround is pretty useless and moot seeing that it's been 6 weeks since I sent four items in and still don't have anything back. The only thing I've gotten is a lot of unfufilled promises and lies. As mentioned in my original review, I was given a new time frame for my repairs which was 4-5 weeks. That time has also come and gone with nothing repaired or returned. I find it truly amazing how all four of the items I sent in; one that just needed a strap reattached; all had to be sent to the original manufacturer and all are still not repaired. I did receive a call from a Square Trade rep after I posted this review and gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was concerned about my experience. However, it appears he was just the next step up the ladder in deceit and wasted more of my time. I'm heartsick at the thought I may be out 20K worth of camera equipment. No one can, wants to, or will help. Stay. Away. Google other insurance plans. Stay. Away. They will lie and tell you your situation is an exception, things like that never happen, etc. Hard to believe when this is the exacxt same experience I had a few years ago which I mentioned in my original review. I honestly don't know if they sold it, if someone is using it, where it is, nothing. All I do know is that I don't have it despite (at this point) almost daily calls and/or emails asking them to return my property.
