Less tendency of being burned from accidentally touching it, as it is not metal exterior. Easy to handle even when full with max of 1L...1.7L is heavy & doesn't seem balanced, due to weight factor. Great for those weak or injured wrist. P.S. My toaster review...forgot to mention that 2 rubber feet were missing, & not in the box.
