I have a saltwater tank up and running for a year. My wife decided to surprise me with a anemone. When I came home I couldnt believe my eyes. It was pure white. I asked my wife the color of it when she bought it she said white. Petco sold my wife a bleached anemone which when they bleach themselves they are stressed out and sick. I went back the next day and was given no help. I was told where it bleached itself it must have been my water. What got me really mad was when I walked over to the salt water selection and seen they were selling another bleached anemone at 15 percent off and if you bought the clownfish that was in the same tank you can get 15 percent of the clownfish too. Soooooo it was my water that made the anemone bleach itself when you are selling a bleached one yourself hmmmmm Lol you ain't selling that at a discount to be nice you are selling it to be a snake. Another thing that got me mad was not one question asked to my wife to see if she had any knowledge of what she was purchasing. Ok so after getting no help from Petco I felt really bad for the anemone and didnt want to just kill it knowing it could be potentially harmful to my tank. I tried to save the little guy. Long story short the next morning the anemone was dead and one of my clowns was laying on the sand bed. My water parameters spiked. I lost the clown and the anemone. Thanks petco! Way to care about the pets and your customers. My wife was sold a 30$ anemone that was sick that cost me a 85$ clown. So what was supposed to be a nice surprise cost me a 115$ and the loss of one of my favorites fish. I know I should have just threw the anemone in the trash but I couldnt do that. Life is precious even a anemones life. I wont be back to Petco again. My wife says I should call the Better Business Bureau. I just may do that.
